Key Stage 1 Multi- Skills Festival
We have had a wonderful morning at the Key Stage 1 Multi- Skills Festival at St Bedes. The children took part in lots of activities which were based on fundamental skills. They tried extremely hard and thoroughly enjoyed every second. Our Sports Leaders also did a great job in supporting the younger children, guiding them through each activity and encouraging them all. We even came away with a gold medal! Go Team B!
Sportshall Athletics Club
We had another brilliant Sportshall Athletics session this week with the children working hard to develop their speed, and agility on their given events. The children found it quite difficult to master the triple jump but with lots of perseverance they got there in the end.
Gymnastics in Year 2
In our gymnastics session today we looked at building a sequence using travelling and jumps. We practiced shapes such as star, straight and tuck. We then moved onto a 1/4 turn jump which was quite tricky. Finally we learned how boys and girls present differently to begin and end a sequence and then added these to our four piece sequence.
Reception PE: Inter-House Olympics
Reception took part in the inter-house olympics session today, ran by our sports leaders. They took part in relay races for obstacles, hurdles, running and throwing. They worked brilliantly in their teams and showed lots of courage to try new things. It was a fantastic PE session!
Super Street Dancing in Year 4
Street Dance Session 4 What a great session we have had today! Miss Jess introduced a new dance move - the bizmarkie, which involved crossing our arms and making a star fish shape in the middle. We rehearsed the new move and then built it into our dance that we have been working on over the past few weeks. It was great to see the children joining in so enthusiastically and really getting into the music. Miss Jess has chosen the song ‘Please don’t stop the music’ by Rihanna and using counts of eight, the children practised walking onto stage to find their starting position. Great work Year 4!
Year 6 - Dance
Today, year 6 continued their dance P.E. unit. They worked extremely hard on putting elements of a dance together, that can be used in their production of Annie at the end of the year.

They showcased fantastic teamwork, creativity, and determination, working together to perfect their skills and express themselves through movement. A truly inspiring session full of energy and fun!
Sportshall Athletics Club
In club this week, the children focused on speed bounce, chest push and long jump. They all worked really hard on developing their speed and agility, particularly with the speed bounce. We also practiced effective takeoff in the long jump with driving our lead leg upward to generate power. Consistency is key and landing leaning forward or to one side prevents us from losing key inches.
Year 5&6 Football Club
Today at football club, Year 5 delved into the tactical elements of football, focusing on space, awareness, and movement off the ball. They participated in an exciting game of handball, where they applied rules such as no travelling with the ball, encouraging their teammates to move dynamically to create space and opportunities to score. The session was filled with energy, collaboration, and lots of learning. As these foundational skills will soon be implemented in football matches to enhance their overall gameplay and team strategy.
Year 5 - Fun in the snow
Year 5 had an amazing time in the snow today, building creative snowmen and making wonderful memories together. It was heartwarming to see the children laughing, playing, and truly enjoying the wintry weather. They also took a moment to reflect on the beauty of our snow-covered surroundings, sharing thoughts about how lucky we are to have such fantastic outdoor spaces to explore and appreciate as a school community.
