Reception PE
The Reception class had a great lesson playing collecting games! They worked in teams to find ‘animal food’ and put them in their ‘nests’ to see who could get her the most. This involved listening carefully to instructions and working together as a team, sharing and helping each other. We then played ‘farmyard tig’ where the animals had to escape the farmers, demonstrating their agility and pace.
Year 6 P.E - Cricket
Year 6 have been working on their cricket skills during P.E lessons. The children have been honing their bowling and batting skills, incorporating good coordination skills and accuracy, building up to playing team matches. These sessions have been lots of fun, made better by the beautiful weather!
Year 5 Winmarleigh PGL
All of the Year 5 children have had a great first day at PGL with lots of amazing activities. It has been great to see all the children enjoy and make the most of their first day and they have truly been living life in all its fullness! Here is a few photos from yesterday’s activities. I will keep uploading updates throughout the trip and all will share a link with you at the end with all the individual photos in. Many thanks Mr Bloomfield
Year 1&2 Trip- The Crocky Trail
Today, our Year 1 and 2 children had an fantastic adventure on their trip to the Crocky Trail! The day was all about pushing boundaries and building confidence, and every child rose to the challenge with extreme courage. It was equally wonderful to see them encouraging each other every step of the way—cheering on their friends, offering a helping hand, and celebrating each other’s achievements with joy. Not only did they have a fantastic time, but they also represented the school beautifully. Their behaviour throughout the day was impeccable—polite, respectful, and full of team spirit. It was a brilliant day full of laughter, bravery, and unforgettable memories. Well done, Year 1 and 2—you were amazing! Year 2 - The slides at Crocky Trail
We began our day on the slides! Let’s just say, the slides were bigger than expected but that didn’t stop the children from flying down. It was amazing to see the children pushing themselves and being really happy that they conquered their fears.
Year 2 - The Big Ones
Let’s just say, the slides were bigger than expected but that didn’t stop the children from flying down. We have great pictures of terror turning to joy. It was amazing to see the children pushing themselves and being really happy that they conquered their fears.
Year 2 - The Foampit slide
The foam pit slide was a hit and the children went back on this many times! After the steep decent, they plunged into a foam pit. Climbing out was another adventure all on its own.
Year 2 - More fun at Crocky Trail
As well as the main slides and rides, there was an abundance of other activities for the children to get involved with. Penalty shootouts, basketball hoops, sniperdomes, volley goal, inflatable bulls, cricket games and much more!
Year 2 - The Sniperdome and Flying Saucer
The children had the opportunity to test their accuracy in the Sniperdome and they each had their own gun to shoot tennis balls at targets. The children also tried to keep their balance and reach the ball above the flying saucer.
DPSSA Netball Round 1
What a wonderful start to the DPSSA Netball league we have had. This evening was round one of the games. Team B played superbly and worked so hard to drive the ball forward, the shooting was spot on and we really gelled as a team. We came away with three amazing wins 16-0, 15-0 and 7-2. Super proud of all our team!
Reception: 5 Ways to Wellbeing
Our Reception class had a wonderful session focussing on wellbeing through being active, staying connected, and taking notice. The children thoroughly enjoyed their Forest Schools session, where they were actively running, exploring, and building together. This hands-on experience fostered both their physical health and their ability to stay connected as they collaborated on projects and supported each other's play. Creativity blossomed as they used "God's creations" to make art. Leaves, twigs, and pebbles became their media, encouraging appreciation for the natural world. This activity also promoted connection as they shared materials and ideas. Moments of quiet reflection helped the children practice taking notice. They listened to the birds singing, observed the beauty around them, and explored their spirituality by expressing gratitude for their environment. This encouraged mindfulness and a sense of wonder. These engaging activities provided valuable lessons in looking after their wellbeing through movement, positive relationships, and appreciating the present moment.
Year 4 PE - Athletics - Throwing and Sprinting
PE this week focused on sprinting and throwing. We looked at developing a throw using a sling action, discussing the differences to the push and pull throw. We worked on zones to see how far the children could reach and discussed how you can use your body to generate force when throwing. Finally, we finished off with sprint races working on sprint starts and fast finishes.
