Safer Internet Day-Poster Competition
We will be taking part in 'Safer Internet Day' on Tuesday 8th February 2022 and would like to ask the children to take part in an Online Safety poster competition which is being promoted by Blackburn with Darwen. The children are asked to design a poster about online safety for children and young people. More details are provided on the link below and the closing date is Thursday 10th February. Year 6- Life Education Workshop
Today Year 6 have taken part in a Life Education Workshop focusing on ‘decisions’. They discussed feelings, friendships and pressures including drugs and alcohol. Year 6 asked some great questions and showed maturity and respect throughout the session. Well done!

Year 6 have been looking for clues to identify the owner of a lost bag, using tentative language to describe their findings.
Year 5/6 Sportshall Athletics winners
Congratulations to our Year 5/6 sportshall athletics team for winning their heat tonight and earning a place in the final next week. Thank you @DVHSPhysEd for hosting and @BwDSGO for organising such a great event.
Year 6 Football
Some of our year 6 children represented the school in the BRFC Kids cup. They were absolutely outstanding and came second. Well done!
Years 5 and 6: Money matters
The children in years 5 and 6 welcomed Mr Souter in today from money matters. They learnt lots and really enjoyed the session. Thank you!
Year 6: Den Building
Some of the children in Year 6 went to Whitehall park. The children enjoyed working as a team and used their problem solving skills to create their own dens. They found resources themselves. Mrs Wilkinson was very impressed with their efforts.
Year 6’s Advent Adventure
Year 6 had a great time at the Rose Garden appreciating the advent artwork and singing Christmas songs.
Festive sausage rolls- Y6 DT
Yesterday Year 6 made their very own festive sausage rolls, we were blown away with their enthusiasm and eagerness to try new food combinations and preparation techniques. We certainly have some keen young chefs in our class. Well done Year 6!
FOSB Christmas Gift Shop
The children have really enjoyed buying items from our Christmas gift shop. A huge thank you to our FOSB group for making it such a huge success!
Junior Christmas lunch
Our juniors loved their Christmas lunch today. It was wonderful to see them cracking crackers with their friends and wearing their party hats. We had a singalong to some of our favourite Christmas songs too. Thank you Mellors for the lovely Christmas lunch!
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Every child in school helped to decorate the Christmas tree yesterday. This morning in Worship, Iris, our youngest child in school got to put the star on top of the Christmas tree. It certainly is starting to look, feel and sound like Christmas at St Barnabas.
