Wellbeing Warriors
We would like to introduce you to our new ‘Wellbeing Warriors’ from Year 4. The Wellbeing Warriors will help to support PSHE ( Personal Social Health Education ) in school by promoting events such as Hello Yellow Day for mental health and Anti-Bullying Week with Odd Socks day which is coming up very soon. They will also meet weekly to discuss how we can improve our PSHE lessons, take part in pupil interviews and monitor scrapbooks. They can’t wait to start their new roles and we look forward to having them.
Human Geography
This afternoon in Year 4 we have been looking at what the Human Geography is. We have identified that human geography explores the people, communities and cultures of the world. We have used the chrome books to complete research on the human geography of South America.

Hello Yellow Day for World Mental Health Day
What a wonderful #HelloYellow Worship we have had this morning. Year 4 really got the message across and raised awareness of mental health. We are so proud at St Barnabas to say we are working hard to make a difference to young people’s mental health @YoungMindsUK
Hello Yellow Day 2021
We have had a brilliant day in school today with all of our children and staff dressing in yellow for Hello Yellow Day. It was topped off with leaving school dancing to the minions ‘happy’ song and being bopped with inflatable bananas by Mrs Ham! Banana #HelloYellow @YoungMindsUK
Deforestation debates
We have been working hard on our ‘Deforestation Debate’ in Year 4 today. So far, we have looked at key language, points for and against and how a piece is structured. We have very different opinions and this has been highlighted in our discussions throughout the week.

Creating master pieces in the style of Romero Britto in Year 4
In Year 4, we have been studying the life and work of Romero Britto. We have been identifying the key elements of his artwork and analysing a variety of pieces. Today we selected pieces of his artwork that feature animals and used these to create our own examples using pencil and felt. We are really pleased with what we have achieved.
Year 4 Dribbles and Passes
Game faces at the ready! Year 4 enjoyed the dribbling and passing challenges in PE this week.
Fabulous French
We are so excited to have Mademoiselle Woodcock, who is a French teacher from DACA, teaching French to KS2 classes every Tuesday this term. Our KS2 class teachers have found it so useful to observe how to teach French more effectively and the children have loved the lessons. Mademoiselle Woodcock has been really impressed with what the children have learnt so far in French over the years. Tres bien Years 3,4,5 and 6!
Year 4's Positive Pants
This week in PSHE, we have been looking at celebrating what we are good at and how it makes us feel inside. We have been sharing three positives each day that we can take away with us. Our positive mental attitudes are shining through and we have been trying super hard to develop our growth mindset.
