Our School Art Gallery
Take a look at our amazing school Art Gallery! The children have worked really hard on their final pieces which are proudly showcased in our KS1 corridor and school hall. We can really see the progress children are making in Art across school and how hard they are working to master new and different skills.
Year 1-Making a Breakfast Pot
Year 1 made their breakfast pots (yogurts, cereals and fruits layered in a pot) for a friend this afternoon after spending a couple of afternoons this week learning how to cut fruits safely, taste testing a variety of fruits, cereals and yogurts and planning and designing a pot for a friend. They did a wonderful job and made sure that they only used ingredients that their friend liked. Well done Year 1!
Wellbeing Club
Mrs Wilkinson really enjoyed spending time with some children from Years 1 and 2 for the start of their wellbeing club. They discussed why it is important to look after ourselves and how we can be kind to ourselves. We then made friendship bracelets and looked at affirmations and coloured in some affirmation posters.

Year 1 PE- Athletics
Today in PE, Year 1 did the first lesson of their athletics unit. They practised various skills such as over arm throwing, rolling a ball, hopping, jogging and balancing a quoit or beanbag on their head.
Year 1 Food Technology- Planning and Designing a Breakfast Pot
Today in Year 1, the children got into partners and had to plan and design a healthy breakfast pot for each other. To do this, each member of the class had to fill in a sheet containing lots of different fruits, yogurts and cereals to state whether they liked or disliked them and then handed this sheet to their partner. From this, the children could then plan and design a breakfast pot for a friend knowing that they were going to enjoy the ingredients.
Year 1 PE- Demonstrating an Overarm Throw
In PE, Year 1 have been working on their technique for overarm throwing. They had to concentrate well so that they could successfully aim for their target to ensure accuracy.
Year 1 Food Technology
Today in their food technology lesson, Year 1 explored two types of cutting techniques. They practised the bridge cutting technique and fork secure cutting technique. This will help them to safely and successfully prepare their fruit for their healthy breakfast pots as part of the end outcome for this unit. Year 1 also did some fruit tasting so that they could express their preferences with regards to which fruit they would like to be included in their healthy breakfast pot. They tasted honeydew melon, grapefruit, peaches, pineapple and dried apricots as well as lots of other fruits. They will be giving these preferences to another member of the class who will be making their breakfast pot for them.

Rev Matt’s Worship: Perseverance
Rev Matt’s worship began with a balloon challenge this morning. The aim was for the children to persevere and keep the balloon up in the air for as long as possible. All three contenders did extremely well. He then shared the story of the man through the roof, in which the sick man’s friends had persevered in seeking help for him. After bringing their friend to Jesus they discovered the house was overcrowded, but they refused to give up. Instead they made a hole in the roof and lowered him in so that Jesus might heal him. We spent time reflecting on how we could help our friends, and those in need.
Easter Singing Worship
What a joyous start to the week! This morning we practised some of our Easter songs ready for our Easter church service in a few weeks. Each class took a turn to show our Reception and Year 1 classes the actions. We sang 'When I think about the cross', 'Give me oil in my lamp', 'This is the story of the cross' 'We have a King who rides a donkey' and our favourite Easter song 'Lord of the Dance'. Well done everyone for your amazing actions, beautiful singing voices and wonderful enthusiasm!
Mad Science After-School Club. We made slime!
The scientists picked their favourite colours in today's session and had a blast making slime. They learned about cool stuff like polymers and how mixing two liquids can turn into gooey slime. They were excited to take it home to show their parents and carers.
