Year 1- Food Tasting and Planning and Designing our Breakfast Pots.
As our D&T unit for this half-term, Year 1 are working towards making a breakfast pot for a friend. Today, they food tasted some ingredients such as grapefruit, redcurrants, blackcurrants, pineapple, apricots, peaches, shreddies, special flakes and weetabix. The children then had to create a checklist of the ingredients that their partner did and didn’t like to inform the planning and designing of the breakfast pot they were making for them. As well as this, they had to include at least 3 of our 5 a day to ensure that it was healthy. Year 1 can’t wait to get making them next lesson.
Reception DT
Some of our children decided to build their own racing track. They worked together as a team and solved problems along the way. Our class enjoyed using the track to find out which car was the fastest on the track!
Reception Junk Modelling
The children have created an ambulance and fire engine. They collected recyclable materials and built their chosen vehicles. Super work!
Reception: Easter Story Writing
We have been practising our Phonics by rewriting parts of the Easter story. The children have tried really hard to apply their learning. Well done, we are really proud of you!
Year 5 - Class Worship
During our class worship this morning, we have been reading through the information about the recent discovery of the shipwreck, Endurance, which sank over 100 years ago. We learnt about Sir Ernest Shackleton and his extraordinary expeditions and his life. We also learnt about his amazing crew that trusted the choices that he made to keep everyone safe and calm.
Year 6 PE
Yesterday year 6 worked on their ball control using tennis balls and bats. They worked both independently and also in pairs to practice controlled force and hand eye coordination.
PSHE & RSE - How our body changes during puberty
Today we have looked at how both a male and female change during puberty. We discussed how we can’t see our hormones but they can definitely change our mood, hair in funny places and periods.
Year 3 French - Animals
Year 3 have welcomed back Miss Woodcock for French. She is continuing our work on animals and will be recapping on colours that we learnt in her absence.
Year 3 PE - Net and Wall Games
Year 3 have been practising striking skills and the ability to keep control of the ball.

Reception Muddy Monday
This week the children walked 5500 steps around Jack Keys reservoir. They persevered and challenged themselves to walk through mud and climb very steep hills. We were so impressed with their determination! Well done Reception!
Farm School
Farm School were visited by farmer Georgie’s farm dog ‘Betty’. The children learnt all about the jobs Betty does to help out on the farm, this included, herding chickens and ducks and helping to find lost sheep. The farm school class also planted ‘golf ball carrots’ and even coloured in some carrot pictures too.
