Year 3 R.E: How does it feel to be in the presence of God?
In R.E this term, the class have been exploring how the presence of God impacts people's lives. To begin with, we discussed the meaning of presence and how we know someone is present with us. Over the past few weeks, we have been looking at pieces of artwork that represent the shepherds visiting Jesus in The Nativity Story. Each child chose a piece of artwork that they were most inspired by and created their own piece, representing how God was present, during the birth of baby Jesus. The class will be presenting their artwork in church on Friday 16th December, during our whole school service at St Barnabas Church.
Year 2 - Creative writing
In year 2 we have worked really hard on our presentation and creative flare within writing. We are all really proud of our work.
Design and Technology - Seasonal Stockings
Our Seasonal Stockings are coming along nicely. This week we have been embellishing our stockings, looking at aesthetics and design. The children have been practicing their running stitch and back stitch. We can’t wait to move onto put them altogether and see the finished product at the Christmas Fair.
Year 6 DT
Today, in DT, year 6 have been researching savoury snacks to explore which ingredients are quite popular and which ingredients complement each other.
Brilliant Bowling!
Mrs Ham had the pleasure of taking some of our Year 3 children to a special SEND 10 pin bowling competition this morning. She was so impressed with the behaviour of all of the children and the way they encouraged each other. They said they had had the best morning of their lives! What super stars!
Year 2 - Column addition
Year 2 have been exploring a variety of different methods of column addition. They have worked really hard building pictorial representations and applying that to their problem solving tasks.
Whole school worship: Peace during Advent
Last week we lit our hope advent candle. Today, Manni lit our peace advent candle. Katie, Eva and Jenson read out our peace prayer. Jesus was sent to bring peace to the world and he is known as the prince of peace. Today, we watched the new John Lewis Christmas advert. Lucy said that the man tried to learn how to skate to make the foster child feel welcome as the child may have felt a little frightened or worried. At the end, the child smiled as they had something in common and she would have felt at peace. For our reflection this week, we need to think about how we can find peace but also how we can bring peace to others.

Year 2 - Designing fruit kebabs
Year 2 have been working really hard to design their own amazing fruit kebabs ready for the Christmas fair. Linking it with our healthy eating in science we have designed our own healthy fruit kebab.
Whole School Celebration Worship
During celebration worship, we celebrated all of our achievements in school this week! We announced the values awards winners in every class and the attendance winners for KS1 and KS2! At the end of our worship, the youngest child in school had the special job of putting the star on the top of our tree! We also welcomed Miss Horsfall to our school family. She will be teaching in the Reception class whilst Mrs Govan is on maternity leave. Congratulations to all of our children and staff members, for another fantastic week in school!
