Mental Health Workshops from the Lily-Jo Project
This week it is mental health awareness week. On Friday morning I have arranged for some fun and interactive mental health workshops from the Lily-Jo Project for all of the children in school. The Lily-Jo Project is devoted to eliminating the stigma surrounding mental health through music, digital resources, and community engagement. They firmly believe that when exposed to the basic principles of mental health from an early age, kids are empowered to: Be proactive about maintaining good mental health into adulthood Ultimately reach their full potential and achieve their dreams! For further information on how you can support your child's mental health, please click on the following link: https://www.thelilyjoproject.com/parents/ There will be no Celebration Worship this Friday as we will be taking part in the workshops. If your child has an award, please save them until next week or send me a photo of them with their award if they have to return it the following week.
Terrific Trapeze!
Our Year 4 and 4 children certainly faced their fear of heights on the Trapeze. Every child should be so proud for pushing themselves out of their comfort zones.

They have all challenged themselves to overcome their fear of heights and water. We had raft- building, problem-solving activities, survivor, rock climbing, trapeze, high ropes, fencing, had a go on the giant swing and sat around the campfire listening to stories whilst drinking hot chocolate. The list is endless. The teamwork and communication skills between each other was exceptional. They ensured working together, supporting and by encouraging each other emotionally and physically was key.

Year 1 Maths- Making Arrays
Today in maths, Year 1 have been making arrays.
Year 1-Class Worship
Today in our class worship, we talked about and celebrated differences. We read Danielle’s story from Picture News about her experiences of living with dwarfism. We talked about how Danielle doesn’t deserve the mean comments or laughter that she sometimes faces from strangers and how this must make her feel upset, devastated, uncomfortable and angry. We then read a story about Esther’s first day at school. Esther started a new school where she had been judged before people got to know her so we talked about how we must get to know people’s likes and dislikes rather than making our own judgements about them. To end our worship, we had some beautiful prayers from some children who held those with mental and physical disabilities in their prayers and prayed for the world to show kindness and respect to others.
