Year 6 have been busy researching popular Christmas time ingredients today. Next week they will be tasting different Christmas time ingredients and will then plan which ingredients they want to use for their festive sausage roll. They are looking forward to then creating their own unique festive sausage roll with the ingredients they have planned to use and they will be able to purchase them at the Christmas fair.
Year 5- Class Worship- A gift that costs nothing
After watching 'The Grinch' Christmas campaign, the children explored the real meaning of Christmas and how being with your family was far more precious than receiving a gift. They then came up with ideas that they could make or do that don't involve spending money. Some of the suggestions were; to make a cup of tea, give your time to someone you love and care for, read a story, make your own decorations, give a hug and have a movie night.
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
Every child in school helped to decorate our real Christmas tree this afternoon. It really is beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Our youngest child in school will place the star on the tree tomorrow in Celebration Worship.
Year 1- DT
Year 1 have been working so hard on their fire engines this week. They have been sawing and painting. We've been so busy and our room has been super messy, but we can't wait to show you the final product!
Wellbeing Warriors New Campaign
Our Wellbeing Warriors have been extremely busy creating new posters to highlight ‘Idling’ around our school and the dangers of it. Idling is the term used for when a car is stationary but the engine is still running. This creates harmful toxic emissions that can make us really poorly. The Wellbeing Warriors want to spread this message, especially to our parents and carers so we will be out with our posters over the next week to promote our new campaign and record any idling that we see, especially directly outside our school boundary.
Year 4 PSHE - Prejudice and Discrimination
In our PSHE lesson we looked at the terms prejudice and discrimination. We discussed how we can form ideas about people and judge them before we even get to know them. We also completed a ‘mind reading’ activity based on only a characters name and picture. Some super discussions were had along with some great new vocabulary to add to our word banks.
Year 4 History - Comparing Iron Age and Roman Settlements
In our History lesson today, we looked at both Iron Age and Roman Settlements. We highlighted the similarities and differences between the two and then moved on to creating our own version of a Roman settlement which included an amphitheatre, baths and an aqueduct.
Year 4 Investigating Teeth
In science, we have been examining our teeth this week. We now know the names of the different types of teeth and what their jobs are.

The children in Reception have been busy this week rehearsing for their Nativity performance. We have started preparing for the birth of Jesus by decorating our classroom.
