In our growing and changing PSHE unit we have been looking at how our bodies change. This week we discussed the topic of menstruation. We found out that a period (or menstruation) is a natural, monthly process where a girl's body sheds a special lining of blood and tissue from the uterus, leaving through the vagina. It is a healthy sign that a girl's body is growing up and going through puberty. Mrs Gardner also showed us a range of sanitary products and how there are even period knickers and swimming costumes now.
