Safer Internet Day
Safer Internet Day 2022 is on Tuesday 8th February and will be celebrated with the theme ‘All fun and games? Exploring respect and relationships online’. We are encouraging everyone to think about respect and relationships in online gaming. Safer Internet Day inspires a national conversation about using technology responsibly, respectfully, critically, and creatively. Coordinated in the UK by the UK Safer Internet Centre, the celebration sees thousands of organisations get involved to promote the safe, responsible and positive use of digital technology for children and young people.
NSPCC Game Safe Festival
The NSPCC are hosting a Game Safe Festival on 7th February 2024. You can sign up for free tickets to a parent workshop to help you keep your children safe when gaming online. The NSPCC are celebrating everything that’s best about the world of gaming. The community, collaboration and creativity. They are bringing together key players to make sure children have positive gaming experiences. The NSPCC are also helping the adults in their lives have the knowledge, confidence and tools they need to help keep children safe when they game. Why you should take part? -89% of children in the UK play video games, but online harms are increasing. -If you’re a parent, you can make sure you know how to keep children safe while they game. You can also be confident about navigating the world of gaming so your child can come to you for advice and support.
