Non Uniform Day to raise awareness during Down Syndrome Awareness Month
October is Down syndrome awareness month and we are excited to invite our St Barnabas family to participate in our "Dress up for Down syndrome" campaign, a special initiative to celebrate Down syndrome whilst supporting the invaluable work of Down Syndrome UK. During the day, classes will come together to learn more about Down syndrome and help to make a positive impact.
Year 4 Linking Schools visit to St Matthews, Blackburn
Year 4 have been taking part in the linking schools project all year which has provided a year-long, curriculum rich link, between schools across the BwD area, building a sense of togetherness and confidence in contact with others. We have been linked to St Matthew's in Blackburn again and are looking forward to visiting their school in the second Summer term and they will be visiting us on Monday 19th May.
Odd socks day for Anti-bullying Week
To launch the start of our anti-bullying week we'll be wearing odd socks on Monday 10th November to celebrate what makes us all unique and to show respect to each other. Children still need to come dressed in their school uniform but may wear odd socks.
