Talking Schools
One of the key aims of the Anti-bullying Week, was to encourage "Talking Schools" were all children and young people are given the opportunity to discuss bullying and other issues.
At our school, we created three locked worry boxes placed at numerous locations around the school such as: the corridor of KS1, lower KS2, and Upper KS2.
The worry boxes are checked each morning to see if any messages have been left. So, as a school, we can deal with any issues or concerns, that the children may be experiencing, efficiently, confidentially and quickly.
Additionally, two members of staff stand on the school yard, each morning for any parent who wishes to speak about their concerns or worries.
Parents also have the opportunity to send a message through a class dojo or through their child's reading record.
This has been a trial and has proven to be effective.
Please feel free to leave any feedback on this initiative.
